PCiRoads partnered with Alliant Engineering to deliver this Design-Build Project, which spanned two years. The project resurfaced 40 miles of I-90, 20 miles eastbound and 20 miles westbound, with a concrete overlay designed to extend pavement life and enhance ride quality.

Over 750,000 square yards of concrete pavement were placed on this project, with the majority being self-produced by PCiRoads. The company also self-performed temporary barrier installation, bridge approach panels, end post reconstruction, joint repair, and restoration of the Golden Panel. Additional major work items included earthwork, pipe installation, bituminous paving, guardrail, culvert repair, signing, striping, drain tile, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and turf establishment.
Innovation and collaboration were critical to the project’s success. PCiRoads’ experienced design-build team and expert crews demonstrated the professionalism and quality workmanship required to meet the rigorous demands of a design-build delivery. This project was honored by CPAM as the Best Project in Concrete Paving for 2024.
